Weekly Round-up

What an exciting start to the week with the arrival of a sprinkling of snow! We hope that you managed to get out in the snow and enjoy it.

Thank you ever so much for the emails we have received of children’s work and also the work that has been uploaded directly into Google Classroom. Please remember to ‘Hand-in’ the work, even if you haven’t got anything to upload, otherwise it looks like you’re not accessing the work. If you haven’t sent any examples of work in please try and do so. If you are unsure how to upload the images please drop us an email and we can help you. You don’t have to upload every piece of work but it is important that we are able to see what the children are achieving and then we can share it on here!

In English this week the children have continued to explore ‘The Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone’. We have seen some fantastic, descriptive writing of both characters and settings. We can see that there is a great deal of creativity – brilliant job. Remember, when you’re find it a little tricky, break it into small steps and use that  ‘I can do it…I will try to do it…I will do my best,’ attitude.

Some fantastic adjectives to describe Cementland
Some great descriptions of Cementland!

In maths, we have finished our block of work on Addition and Subtraction within 20′. The children have been looking at fact families and comparing number sentences using ‘greater than’, ‘less than’ and ‘equal to’. We hope everyone enjoyed the ‘Around the Room game’ today! We will be starting a new block of work next week – I hope you’re all excited! Here are some fabulous examples of some of the children’s work this week:

Comparing number sentences – true or false?
Fact families!

We can see that the children have been working hard with the afternoon activities too. Great job.

Geography maps!
Fantastic French numbers!
Art – Tints and Shades
PSHE – some thoughts on bullying

Please remember to try and keep as active as you can. What have you done this week to keep active?

If you are unavailable when we call, please send an email to the class email address to let us know a convenient time to ‘catch-up’.

We are all having to adjust and we really appreciate all that you are doing at home to support your child/children and us. What we are hoping is that, over the coming weeks, you will see our presenting skills getting better…we are learning too!

Weekly Round up Jan 8th

Weekly Round-up

What a week it has been and not like the week were expecting or hoping for! It has been a quick turn around with the home school learning and we hope that you bear with us whilst we are getting used to this new way of teaching.

Thank you ever so much for the emails we have received of children’s work and also the work that has been uploaded directly into Google Classroom. It is really helpful if you can upload any completed work onto the google classroom. We will be trying to look at the work on a daily basis, obviously on some days we will be teaching in school so this will not always be possible. If you have uploaded some work and it has not been looked at after a couple of days, please can you email us and let us know the date and piece of work. It is not always clear from our end when work has been added and we would hate to miss any.

We know that home learning presents many challenges but just do what you can do. We are all having to adjust and we really appreciate all that you are doing at home to support your child/children and us.
