What an exciting start to the week with the arrival of a sprinkling of snow! We hope that you managed to get out in the snow and enjoy it.
Thank you ever so much for the emails we have received of children’s work and also the work that has been uploaded directly into Google Classroom. Please remember to ‘Hand-in’ the work, even if you haven’t got anything to upload, otherwise it looks like you’re not accessing the work. If you haven’t sent any examples of work in please try and do so. If you are unsure how to upload the images please drop us an email and we can help you. You don’t have to upload every piece of work but it is important that we are able to see what the children are achieving and then we can share it on here!
In English this week the children have continued to explore ‘The Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone’. We have seen some fantastic, descriptive writing of both characters and settings. We can see that there is a great deal of creativity – brilliant job. Remember, when you’re find it a little tricky, break it into small steps and use that ‘I can do it…I will try to do it…I will do my best,’ attitude.
In maths, we have finished our block of work on Addition and Subtraction within 20′. The children have been looking at fact families and comparing number sentences using ‘greater than’, ‘less than’ and ‘equal to’. We hope everyone enjoyed the ‘Around the Room game’ today! We will be starting a new block of work next week – I hope you’re all excited! Here are some fabulous examples of some of the children’s work this week:
We can see that the children have been working hard with the afternoon activities too. Great job.
Please remember to try and keep as active as you can. What have you done this week to keep active?
Here are some useful links.

And don’t forget…STREET TAG!
We will leave this information here each week for easy access.
Please remember to reinforce the correct pencil grip at home; the correct letter and number formation.
This video shows how the children are taught in Foundation using the Read Write Inc scheme but please note that we use a ‘curly’ k and the ‘f’ has a longer tail that carries on below the line.

The following video will reinforce the correct number formation for 0-9
